Hg2 : The Hedonist

Little Rose

The décor of this highly sophisticated restaurant is exceptional, the sushi is slightly above average and the location is as perfect as you will find in Palermo Viejo.

The Argentine sushi chefs dressed like Japanese submarine mechanics are slightly over-the-top, however, especially given that the tuna rolls are made with tinned tuna (in Buenos Aires it is near impossible to find the fresh kind), but the salmon makes up for it.

One of Argentina’s iconic photographers and one of Little Rose’s owners, Gabriel Roca, took the child portraits hanging on the black walls. And Little Rose happens to be the young lady seen photographed here – the idea is that she and her siblings will come to eat here regularly as they get older. The black panelled walls and seductive lighting mean Rose will probably not take full advantage of the restaurant – particularly the sofa booth – until she has the boys knocking on her door. But until then, this seductive first-floor masterpiece has room for anyone with pocket money. The other shareholders of Little Rose are the owners of Mott, which is only 30 metres and great for pre-dinner drinks.
