Hg2 : The Hedonist

Livet’s position is wonderful, in front of the chaotic and central Porta Genova station, this sheltered garden is one of the most charming places to eat in Milan during the spring and summer months; while in winter the elegant and warm interior, with orange walls and dark red seats is enticing.

Guido Laremi, the owner and chef, is a young ex-lawyer who specialises in outstanding cuts of meat from Tuscany, such as ‘chianina’ and ‘mucco pisana’ (ancient breeds of cow from Tuscany), lamb and game; as well as an excellent selection of pasta, fish, tuna botargo (fish roe), italian cheeses and olive oil, even stretching to special salt from Wales, England and France.

A list of more then 200 wines and a good choice of spirits (grappa, rum, bourbon and Scottish single malt) means lunch or dinner is likely to be a prolonged and ebulliant affair.
