An unusual Berlin club ludging by its artistic temperament, Lovelite really is the word on the street. Some of Berlin’s best graffiti crews and street artists come down here to write, hang out and listen to music – mainly underground hip-hop and electronic. A gallery space houses temporary exhibitions, although unofficial pieces on the outside gates are worth a visit in themselves. Although an independent initiative, Lovelite is run with professionalism and artistic flair. The street-savvy crowd are refreshingly broad-minded and open to musical persuasion. The interior is simple but slick, and the vibe always upbeat. Rising above the shackles of hype, Lovelite is a genuinely cool place to relax and kick back. Idiosyncratic touches – such as the permanently stoned kiosk vendor who sells tea and toasties from the back of a camper van – only add to its charm. Owned by the same team behind the KMA bar.
