Hg2 : The Hedonist

Luna Mulata

Just off the Gran Via, Luna Mulata is on the edge of the trendy, gay Chueca district and this relative newcomer is one of a new breed of more sophisticated restaurants appearing in this part of Madrid. Luna Mulata was opened in December 2002 by a forward-thinking group of friends, including a painter, a musician and an entrepreneur who owns the highly successful Café La Palma in Malasana.

There’s live music most nights in the den-like club downstairs, which is helping to put this place on the map. The restaurant is modern Spanish – duck magret cooked in Andalucian wine is one speciality – and there’s a great set-lunch menu. During your meal, grab a programme to see what’s happening for the rest of the month.
