Mamaison Riverside Prague
The Mamaison Riverside Prague opened in 2002 and has made an impressive inroad into Prague’s designer hotel scene. A product of the French group Orco, the hotel combines modern elegance and comfort with old-fashioned Art Nouveau decor and breathtaking views. Situated on the riverbank, as the name suggests, Riverside overlooks not just the Vlatva but also the Castle (if you get the high room on the north-facing side), as well as Frank Gehry’s impressive Dancing House.
Simple but stylish rooms are the product of Pascale de Montramy’s design vision, and include the comfortable Room 603, which has a stunning panorama and balcony. The standard rooms are not particularly spacious, but nor are they insufficient. The relaxed and modish lobby bar at the Mamaison Riverside Prague is the perfect place to sip a cocktail, making the only minus points the lack of a restaurant and a brisk 20-minute walk into the centre.
