The Marmara Park Avenue
Light, airy and unexpectedly modern, The Marmara Park Avenue offers a welcome retreat from the busy streets of Manhattan. The perfumed lobby area sweeps in a sensual curve of white around the reception desks, seating areas and a small bar backed by glass demijohns and spirits of varying hues. At the centre of the room is a flock of ceramic birds suspended on string and an enormous 14 foot silver chimney that channels smoke from the fire up towards the ceiling.
Follow the curve of the room around to the lifts and you can either sink down into further tranquillity at the marble spa and wellness centre or fly up to your studio apartment, surprisingly spacious for New York and fitted out with a private terrace and a Wetbar, should you wish to forgo the city’s world-class dining and cook yourself a slap up supper instead. Those really after a home from home should book a penthouse suite, which come with incredible views of the Empire State Building as well as a large living room and numerous bedrooms.
When it comes to dining, there are still a few tweaks to be made. Based on the quality of the breakfast served, we’d recommend getting out and experiencing a proper New York breakfast beyond the walls of the hotel.
