The main club at Maroma is large and simply furnished, framed by traditional architecture but sheltered by a huge metal roof that slides away to reveal the night sky above, which is an unusual feature in Bogotá nightlife. An expansive bar crowns the centre of the room, operated by exceptionally attractive bartenders who mix an impressive list of liquors with speed. The dance floor is filled with well-to-do twenty-year-olds, most of whom spend their night sipping on Champagne and shimmying to the multi-genre (but always good) music. Upstairs is a VIP lounge, which enables business executives to relax on a more intimate balcony and watch the heaving masses down below.
