Marriott Moscow Tverskaya
The third of the Marriott hotels in Moscow, the Tverskaya describes itself as boutique (in Russian terms) – perhaps because it is small and reasonably intimate. It opened in 1999, but has an Art Nouveau façade that disguises the fact that two buildings have been fused together.
Smaller and cosier than its sister Marriotts, there is an atmosphere of calm – the perfect antidote to the hustle and bustle of Tverskaya ulitsa outside. Like the other Marriotts, the hotel is clean and efficient, but cannot quite escape that ‘hotel chain’ feel.
The rooms have all the necessary mod-cons and are perfectly comfortable, and the service is friendly and reliable. The restaurant, Gratzi, offers a variety of International and Russian dishes but if you fancy something else, you are well positioned for the many excellent restaurants in this part of town.
