Hg2 : The Hedonist

Mighty is one of those industrial hipster San Francisco nightclubs that is so old-school, it’s new. The exposed brick, heavy timbers, and hardwood floors are original. And the mood? Dark, arty, and anonymous, with a 30-foot steel bar, soaring ceilings, graffiti-style art, a looming chandelier and floor-to-ceiling mirrors in the bathroom. The space is big (7,000 square feet), so it doesn’t get rocking until a good number of people show up. Go late (after 10pm) and expect to drink and dance, but not lounge or chitchat. The music is loud and there are few places to retreat. On good nights, the hipster crowds will come out in force and the dance floor rocks late into the night. Genuinely lofty, Mighty is hidden away in a nook between the Mission and Potrero Hill that still has real factories and shipping yards, giving it a truly industrial-chic vibe. This is not a Euro-chic lounge. After 10 pm, the place fills with night owls who come to drink, dance, and get debaucherous. Check the calendar before heading out, as Mighty frequently hosts private parties and hours and covers vary.
