Minyon W Istanbul
W Hotel’s super-chic dining option hosts more mirrors, models and brushed aluminium tables than your average Armani outlet. By day this hip hangout is the Akaretler shopping area’s lunch spot du jour. rnrnThe big Bose speakers at ground level hint at proceedings later in the evening when nighttime diners chomp to the throb of DJ sets and live acts – the tagline is ‘Hip Food, Hip Music’ – and you’ll either love it or hate it.
The Turko-Japanese menu is as showy as it is expansive, although tasting platters give you a chance to nibble all of head chef Emre Çapa’s creations. Lemongrass scallops and edamame salmon salad grace the starter menu, followed by Asian fish fillets and cracking pizzas on the more Turkish-heavy main selection.
