Mme Shawn is not a Thai madame of the sauna sort, but an excellent Thai restaurant famous for its use of fresh ingredients. The innovative menu includes a Thai version of frogs’ legs, which makes both the dish and the idea far more palatable. Tastefully decorated, mocha-coloured ceilings and walls are highlighted with plum tones and Thai wood-carvings, long-stalked exotic plants in over-sized pots and countless lampshades hang from the ceiling. Fairy-lights draped over bamboo screens make it more atmospheric in the evenings (a better time to visit). Boho-chic locals make up the regulars, who cram into this intimate restaurant or chatter animatedly on the pavement terrace in summer.
