Mo-Chica
Having made the move from modest downtown food joint to hip new Beverly Hills digs, Mo-Chica’s sleek industrial-style décor splashed with graffiti (courtesy of local artist Kozem), is completely in tune with Chef Zarate’s vibrant modern Peruvian menu. Cooking up a deliciously contemporary yet defined take on traditional Peruvian comfort food, Zarate’s concoctions will stick to your ribs and live long in the memory – the likes of Alpaca stew, quinoa risotto, ceviche and Amazonian fish offer just a bite of the rich Peruvian gastronomy on offer here. The speciality punches, with a twist of Peruvian pisco grape brandy, are sure to get you off to a great start whilst a plethora of Latin-sourced wines will keep you fired up throughout the meal. And for those who prefer something a little softer, Mo Chica will treat you to a who’s who of Peruvian soft drinks – from the famous Inca Cola to old school and bittersweet chica morada, made from purple Peruvian corn.
