Hg2 : The Hedonist

Moloko is a one of the more straightforward and simple bars in Beirut located in a courtyard of about six bars just off Monnot Street. The courtyard contains three old stone buildings that have been revamped and rebuilt, and Moloko is one of these. The bar’s simplicity is what makes it the perfect tonic to the rowdier drinking holes along the strip. In the summer, when it’s hot, the bar spills out into the yard and is packed with chilled drinkers – or those who’ve failed to impress the other bars here. rn

Moloko is the kind of place that sweeps everyone up. The music is good, a mix of hip-hop, pop and rock, and the people friendly. A TV screens the ever-popular football and basketball games and beers can be bought on tap for that genuine sports-fan feel. Because of the non-existent door policy the bar can become full of teenagers, but it’s still worth a look.
