If you like mogul fields this is one of the runs in Verbier that you’ll love. Mont Fort is the highest point at 3,330m and after a quick look over the back of Mont Fort for the views there is a traverse that is usually pisted. This is followed by a steep slope where the moguls can be huge. Many duck under the ropes to avoid them but be warned – it is a glacier with crevaces. After a thigh burning descent you can either head back towards La Chaux or, better still, take a high speed run across the base of the glacier that brings you out to another itinerary run, Gentiane. In our humble opinion it is a more testing run than the more-famous Tortin/Chassoure. It is less steep if you head off to the right or left. We like to veer left under the cable car where you may well find some great powder, though this area is prone to avalanche.
