Mori Art Museum
Roppongi is not all play and no culture: bypass the late night bars and designer stores of the entertainment district and instead head to the gleaming skyscraper in the heart of Roppongi Hills development. Mori Art Museum is one of the most significant contemporary art galleries in Tokyo.
Housed at the top of the Mori Tower over 250 metres above sea level, the 53rd floor gallery is an expansive white space that attracts a glittery roll call of big international names: from a retrospective of Turner Prize winners to video art pioneer Bill Viola. Visitors can also buy Tokyo City View tickets along with their museum entry and after the show experience a sight to rival the art: endless views of the city unfolding through floor to ceiling windows in a 360 degree observation floor.
