Hg2 : The Hedonist

With its big picture windows and super-casual feel, Moustache fits in well in NYC’s pretty East Village – and, actually, we were a little surprised that nobody voted the spot with its locale on a sleepy side of Bedford Street for a spot to eat on the down-low.

But the Middle Eastern fare served at small, bare wood tables in the tapestry-hung brick-wall dining area was a favorite all the same. We love the merguez – a sandwich of savory lamb sausage with a kick served with creamy tahini, tomato, and onion and it’s a delicious conundrum to choose from the 10 different kinds of pizza via pita bread (that’s pitza, to the uninitiated), but whether you’re on the go in the East Village or across town, Moustache is fast and fantastic Middle Eastern pick for chefs like Dan Barber and Eddy Leroux.
