Hg2 : The Hedonist

Museum Inn

Right next to the Sultan Inn, overlooking the excavated caravanserai of the Old City and with an equally magnificent view across the Maiden Tower to the Caspian Sea beyond, The Museum Inn has a more homely feel to it and a personal, if slightly chaotic, style. The reception area and bar is an explosion of colour and texture, with some interesting features, including an original and (very) deep well and some stunning antique painted chests. Standard rooms are not the biggest – well this is a converted nineteenth century mansion, so the architects had to make do with what they had – but the fittings are comfortable and the top floor suite, complete with a lovely private balcony, more than makes up for it on the space front. The communal balcony is a wonderful spot to breakfast too, secluded and comfortable and with that stunning view.
