As you probably know, rugby in Cape Town is quite big. One of South Africa’s premiere rugby venues, this is the second-oldest rugby stadium in the world and – for fans, at least – a place of legend, where some major international scores have been settled. Getting to Newlands can be a real test of will power since traffic inevitably starts clogging up from early, so if you’re determined to join the crowds, make plans well in advance, and don’t plan on getting away in a hurry at the end of it, either. Of special interest will be any international test match, particularly a Tri-Nations game (against arch rivals New Zealand and Australia) or six-nations test match.
