Nine Lives
At first blush, Nine Lives could be any stylish cocktail bar. It’s got a discreet location (on a back-street near London Bridge), a swanky interior (full of cosy niches and golden-lit, woven light fixtures), and an impressive cocktail list to match.
But what sets it apart is its sustainability mission.
Cocktail bars can be wasteful places, particularly when you start to consider just how many lemon rinds, plastic straws, and bottles are binned each night. Nine Lives has brought their zero-waste focus to all ends of the bartending biz. Leftover fruit is made into extracts or composted; plastic straws are swapped for pieces of bamboo (sold for £2 a pop), and most ingredients are made in-house.
The result is a bar that doesn’t just earn eco credibility, but whose fresh and fruit-led drinks are utterly delicious, too. Order a refreshing Omu Kooler (made with Campari, watermelon, and cucumber soda), groove to whatever’s being played on the top-notch sound-system, and feel good about your decadence.
