Nobu Los Angeles
No man has brought more acclaim to the artistry of Japanese cuisine than Nobu Matsuhisa, and his continuing commitment to high standards, elegant preparations, and uncompromising style continue to earn him a devoted, Black Card-carrying fan base. Indeed, movie stars, supermodels, tycoons, politicos, and sushi snobs alike have the Nobu reservation line on speed dial. so make yours well in advance, if possible. Located in the former L’Orangerie space, his third LA location is decadently decked out – crimson banquettes, sexy low lighting – and is manned by attentive servers and drop-dead gorgeous hosts (naturally). Of course, the sashimi and rolls will send you over the moon. If you choose to forego sushi, go for the famous black cod miso, Tasmanian ocean trout with yuzu soy and crispy spinach, the Kobe skirt steak with special Nobu sauces, or the $25-per-ounce Wagyu beef. Isn’t it nice to know you’ll be properly taken care of?
