Nyood Bar
Pronounced ‘nude’, the written word and reality are two different things here. According to the website the décor is ‘inspired by the romantic notion of abandoned mansions and forgotten memories’. Don’t believe the blurb (what does it mean, anyway?). It’s a dark room at the top of a staircase, filled with people drinking, dancing and flirting. Which is all most people are looking for.
Squeezed into the space, nobody notices the interior design concept, which is an underwhelming mish-mash of simple wooden stumps as tables, modern lights and wall slogans. It’s the ‘hood that’s good, located in the melting pot that is West Queen West. It’s a place where the beer-drinking t-shirt brigade can cohabit with the Champagne-quaffing suit set, without causing any punch-ups.
Downstairs is the ever-popular Nyood restaurant (Mediterranean tapas), so this building can take you from dinner to drinks to dancing.
