Occo’s motto ‘the art of fine dining’ sets the bar high and over the past couple of years or so, it has continued to perform for its well-heeled, mainly 30 something clientele. From the backlit golden agate bar, like a giant slab of luminescent honeycomb, to the recurring ‘o’ theme in the recessed wall lights, wall-mounted wine rack and delicate pendant glass bubble lamps, you know that a lot of thought has gone into ‘the look’. Great news is that the food lives up to the design’s promise too. Signature Hennessy house cocktails are served short in a tumbler, the ‘Occo’ being poured over a squeeze of freshly pounded strawberry puree and garnished with mint – an intensity of flavour that explodes in the mouth. Food is exquisite, service good and the attention to detail impressive to say the least.
