Ola has moved from downtown to South Beach, and has a very sleek, modern design, with space-age chairs, abstract art and a long retro table as the centre-piece. Chef Douglas Rodriguez first opened Yuca in Coral Gables, and Ola is his latest venture, producing a serious mixture of Latin American recipes that most chefs in Miami would never consider. Ceviches, however, are what Douglas is renowned for; in fact, he has written a book called The Great Ceviche. With less competition in the area, Ola is fast becoming popular and is therefore an ideal place to eat if you plan to hit clubs in the Downtown area. The atmosphere is usually friendly as people arrive either directly from work or turn up later for dinner before heading to Pawn Shop and I/O.
