Pane & Caffè
This one of Milan’s bakeries goes way back, but you can’t tell: Originally opened by Mr and Mrs Stucchi in 1966, it has become a café, bakery, cocktail and wine bar, all accompanied by a DJ or live music. Gilberto (aka Gibo), the son, is the protagonist of this transformation: the modern interior is replete with fashionable white-leather or wengè wood chairs and ethnic or baroque lamps. rnrnEvery morning the bakery churn out fresh pizza, cakes, breadsticks, doughnuts and more than 20 varieties of bread made with walnuts, olives, chocolate and different kinds of flour. At lunch Pane & Caffè transforms into a restaurant and then in the evening one can take aperitivo with free focaccia or pizza alongside a good choice of wine. rnrnEvery Tuesday this is accompanied by live jazz with Davide Fusi and Roberto Agostinelli and every week end by DJ sets. An informal place where past and future are perfectly mixed.
