Park Guell has been likened by some to Disneyland, but we couldn’t agree less. Commissioned by Eusebi Guell as a park of apartments for the city’s aristocracy, it is as ostentatious as one would expect. However, it remains true to Gaudi’s commitment to and obsession with all things natural and organic. He refused to level its land so twisting pathways take you through different segments of the park, upon which you’ll come across mosaic dragons, rock pillars that arch like tree shrubs, and endless tiled ceilings. The northwest corner at the peak of the park, where you’ll find ornate, multi-faceted mosaic seats lining each wall, offers the most fantastic views of the city.
