Patisserie de Princes
Patisserie de Princes is possibly the most famous of the sweet shops and patisserie cafes in Marrakech, located on the budget-traveller strip known as the rue Bab Agnaou, leading just off the Jemaa el Fna. It’s the place to head if you are enamoured with all things sugary and powdery and/or partial to the occasional delicious milkshake. It’s also very convenient if you simply want to dive out of the heat and into somewhere coolly air-conditioned. The front of the shop is full of cakes and pastries, all temptingly laid out in chilled glass cabinets. Once you’ve bought your treats you can pass through to the popular back room or up to the grand salon, and mingle with the locals and tourists while, predictably, pictures of the King stare down at you from the walls.
