Pension Rotdorn
Situated in a 1920s villa on the Western side of Charlottenburg Berlin, the Pension Rotdorn is one of Berlin’s boutique hotels providing charming and intimate accommodation for those looking to mix big city thrills with a bit of rural peace and quiet. The pension’s park-like garden provides an immediately tranquil welcome, while the family-run villa itself is a pleasant step back in time. Antique furnishings litter the hallways and rooms, sitting comfortably alongside modern conveniences like cable TV, telephone and refrigerator. The rooms are fairly spacious with comfy beds and the en-suites have decent sized baths. As with many pensions, there isn’t someone on call all the time, so be prepared to be a little independent. Rotdorn is somewhat out of the way, and there aren’t many restaurants in the neighbourhood, but the city’s notoriously efficient transport system, literally opposite the front door, will whisk you somewhere central in 10 minutes. Ideal for those who prefer a little distance between their pillow and downtown.
