One of the coolest clubs in Zürich, Plaza caused something of a sensation when it opened in 2010, with everyone, but everyone falling in love with it. Formerly a cinema, Zürich’s pretty young things shaking a tail feather on the dance floor under the watchful eye of the exotic birds adorning the walls.

Serving up an innovative programme of party nights, dance, indie, funk and soul evenings come with a side order of retro glamour. Thursdays are particularly popular, people come for the aperitivo (drinks and a free buffet) at 5pm and at 9pm the Sensational Plaza Dance Orchestra takes to the stage, blending drums, guitar and bass over tracks to create live remixes.

Upstairs is a stylish fumoir bar and the small Kosmos club, where smokers can dance and shake their thing (although probably not advisable at the same time) to nostalgic tunes.
