This family-run Cuban bakery (and what a charming family it is!) can get ridiculously crowded, so don’t go when you’re hungry or you could keel over as you wait to sample the many marvelous items on offer. Ornate cakes (mousses tortes, and traditional), croissants (chocolate, strawberry-cheese, spinach and feta), chocolate chip cookies, macaroons, French baguettes, traditional Cuban treats, and such take center stage, of course, but regulars know that you can score some delicious meat pies, potato croquettes, and Cuban sandwiches, too. Just one look at the divine desserts on display in the glass-front case and you’ll be glad you made the trip. Calorie-counters best beware.
