Prescription Cocktail Club
It won’t come as much of a surprise, upon entering Prescription Cocktail Club, that this high-end Left Bank bar sprang fully formed from the minds behind the Experimental Cocktail Club. The quirky furnishings and clever concept practically scream it, in a low-key, utterly seductive manner, of course. But the main indicator? The world-class, creatively-concocted, perfectly-mixed cocktails. You can put yourself in the hands of any one of the stellar bartenders here and what will be placed in front of you is art in alcohol form.
You can stick with the classics, should your tastes run to traditional drinks like the Old Fashioned. Or you could opt for one of the house-made concoctions for a taste of the wild side. But, while the Prescription Cocktail Club is stylishly adorned with bowler hat lights (a nod to Magritte), old books, and Paris’ fashionable set, don’t be discouraged; all cocktail-lovers are welcome here. Just give yourself over to the speakeasy vibe and point at something, anything on the drinks menu because it’s sure to be good.
There are a few things to keep in mind though. First, make a note of the address before you go. In keeping with the speakeasy-vibe, you won’t see a sign outside, although there might be a telltale queue giving its location away. Speaking of: try to get there sooner rather than later on the weekend. Having world-renowned cocktails out of arm’s reach on the other side of the unmarked door is not what the doctor ordered.
