Nancy Oakes of Boulevard fame has done it again, re-inventing her light, elegant French-California touch with Prospect, a casual, but no less impeccable experience of dining out in San Francisco. Dayboat scallops are served with lobster mushroom risotto, in what seems already a classic dish. Pork belly and cheek, served with farro, takes a trendy ingredient (pork belly) and brings it down to earth with an ancient grain. The space-in earth tones, natural fibers, and reclaimed wood-was designed by Brand+Allen Architects, and the overall effect is that of a residential loft. Prospect is one of the toughest reservations in town, so book well ahead for prime time seating.
