Quay Grand Suites
Although the décor lacks a certain pizzazz, as do many of the other hotels in Sydney which cater to the business crowd, there’s a choice of one or two-bedroom suites, each with separate bedrooms and all the tech necessities like flatscreen televisions, DVD/CD player and stereos. And the views from the opening windows and balconies are superb. The east-facing suites overlook the verdant Botanical Gardens and the waterfront suites that overlook the Harbour Bridge and mesmerising harbour will bring a tear to your eye. If you’re planning an extended stay, these suites are just the ticket. Each is equipped with washing machine, dryer and a modern kitchen – though you may not want to use the latter, given the tempting proximity to The Quadrant restaurant, which has floor-to-ceiling windows. Quay earns extra points for its recreation deck – along with a heated indoor swimming pool, there’s a spa, sauna and gymnasium to work out that jet-lag.
