Hg2 : The Hedonist

Quo Vadis

The latest incarnation of Quo Vadis, a London Soho institution since 1926, is the work of the Hart Brothers, the Anglo-Iberian siblings behind the Spanish restaurants, Fino and Barrafina. Previously Italian, the new Quo Vadis menu keeps things more British meets European with a mixture of quality meat (veal cutlet, various cuts of 28-day Hereford beef), pasta, roasted poultry such as squab and simply prepared seafood. Upstairs, in the building where Marx (Karl not Groucho that is) once lived, the clubbable Harts have opened a new members’ club, where they’ll probably let you go drinking until the small hours if you ask nicely. Back in the restaurant the increasingly dapper Eddie Hart is a consummately polite front-of-house type who, backed up by a keen young team, knows how to make his guests feel special.
