Set behind a beautiful Edwardian exterior complete with stained-glass windows (how very Ivy), the QV Bar is sure to have London’s hottest movers and shakers propping up the bar after-hours (and before-hours, in some cases) – its a fabulous place for dancing and drinking in London. It certainly did at the opening, which was sponsored by Ketel One vodka and had part-owner Eddie Hart on-site to greet cocktail-swilling guests. The Art Deco interior is awe-inspiring, to say the least, with unique artworks flanking the walls (there’s even an original Damien Hirst in the restaurant – securely attached, of course). But it is the bar menu that truly dazzles here, with mouthwatering dishes such as crisp-fried baby squid, black pudding with fried duck egg and salt cod fritters. What to wash it down with? Our favourite tipple is the Floradora, made from Beefeater Gin, fresh raspberries, lemon guides and ginger ale. Shaken, not stirred – naturally.
