Rausch Patissier is set up as a one of the delicatessens in Bogotá, with homemade ice-cream, pasta and gourmet chocolates on display, and a large deli counter from which to select gourmet goodies. Cheeses, meats, quiches and salads are all available to take home, though it’s also pleasant to sit and enjoy your farm-fresh food on a plush pink sofa. The deli fare is delicious, but the true star of Rausch Patissier is the pastry selection. Everything is the best you’ve ever eaten, with original, inventive ingredients used to make each offering that bit better. The pear tart and tiramisu are some of the more traditional dishes, but there are more adventurous choices in the form of lemon mouse with layers of sponge and lime jelly. The café is always full at lunchtime, and it’s really not hard to see why.
