Red Rooster
Named after the legendary Harlem speakeasy where Nat King Cole and James Baldwin used to enjoy drinks and good music, Red Rooster joins Harlem’s vibrant community of legendary local venues like the Apollo Theater. The main event here is American comfort food like Yankee pot roast and shrimp with dirty rice – the kind of down home cooking you’d expect in a neighbourhood with as much history and grit as Harlem. There’s also a lively bar and a front window offering a to-go menu of drinks and baked goods. The interior design is also a nod to the vibrant area with plenty of colour and hanging art. The bar also regularly features a killer lineup of R&B, blues and soul acts.
