Downstairs, the Renaissance Arts Hotel has a museum’s worth of art – making this a unique part of the Marriott hotel chain. The Arthur Roger Gallery selected the pieces – including paintings, sculptures, and large Chihuly chandeliers-and opened an extension of its gallery near the lobby. Upstairs, the warehouse space mimics a New Orleans residential neighbourhood, with hallways covered in wood siding and a doorbell for each room. The Renaissance Arts Hotel, located in a quiet section of the Warehouse Arts District, is close to the galleries and small cafes that cater to area loft dwellers. Guests can range from attendees of whichever convention is in town to art lovers and sophisticates who want to stay in this gallery-heavy area. Rooms will either have an outside view or overlook the interior atrium and sculpture garden. The best rooms are on the upper floors at the rear of the hotel. Even nonguests should stop by to admire the art or sample the seafood at La Côte Brasserie.
