Hg2 : The Hedonist

Riad Kaiss

It took three years to transform Kaiss from a local riad (dating from 1860) into one of the finest riads in Marrakech. Owned and constructed by architect Christian Ferre, it’s a sizeable place centred around two large courtyards, which, along with the rooms, are enhanced with a considered amalgam of antiques, Art Deco furnishings, objects from Thailand and a plethora of neatly arranged artistic bits and bobs. The eight rooms at Riad Kaiss all differ décor-wise but are unerring in their quest to seduce romantic souls. The roof is really something to behold: a handsome, florid network of stairways and relaxation areas with a natty plunge pool tucked away discreetly in one corner. The staff can be aloof but the level of service seems more than decent. Other facilities include a new spa, hammam and free wifi in every room.
