For drinking in Berlin in one of the more established spots in the area, Riva is another cozy, stylish Mitte cocktail bar. Named somewhat idiosyncratically after the 1970s Italian football star Luigi Riva (whose picture hangs behind the bar), the tunnel-esque interior boasts curved ceilings, thick dark curtains and bright red, yellow and purple patchwork walls. The designer bar is the perfect spot for perching, posing and preening, while leather benches along the walls are constantly flled with those deep in conversation. The crowd, like the cocktails, tend to be well mixed and host occasional reading and cultural events. The eclectic music policy can range to anything from Latin to deep house.
