Rök Smokehouse and Bar
The Smokehouse trend has been spreading like wild fire (pun intended), so the newly opened Nordic-inspired Rök Smokehouse and Bar fits right in to its snug spot in Shoreditch. Chef Matt Young has pickled, marinated and smoked British ingredients to create flavoursome dishes like smoky-sweet scallops, each served in a shell with spicy Nduja oil and samphire, and unctuous sweet potato that’s been blackened on a charcoal grill and smothered with creamy horseradish sauce. Ample salad offerings complement smoked meats – such as pork, duck and guinea fowl – which are all provided by award-winning charcuterie and smokehouse Cobble Lane Cured. Dark wood and white walls complete the Nordic concept with an open kitchen and a cocktail bar drawing in both gourmands and Shoreditch’s after-work crowd.
