The cafe at this 19th century garden on Djurgården – the island that is to Stockholm what Central Park is to Manhattan – offers light bites and cafe fare. The cafe is set in the garden’s old greenhouse and spills out into the surrounding greenery, which is run as a foundation where the income from the café, shops and plantshop goes towards the running and development of the garden. The menu of salads, sandwiches, soups, biscuits and cakes is organic and the produce is grown in the garden according to biodynamic principles. They also offer a selection of wine and beer at a summertime-only garden bar and serve fresh breads baked in an onsite stone oven. Where possible, the cafe sources its produce from the garden itself, which is glorious when seated al fresco among blooming trees and flowers.
