Roter Salon an der Volksbuhne
An atmospheric Berlin nightclub situated around the other side of the Volksbühne complex from the Grüner Salon, the Roter Salon has a classic 1950s theatre ambience and gets its name from its seductively red interior. Red velvet curtains, red leather sofas and red lighting create a suitably decadent atmosphere, enhanced by crystal ornamentation, mirrors and an up-for-it crowd. The club’s music policy is admirably diverse, ranging from French Pop, Northern Soul and House to the indie pop Karrera Klub, Tango nights (Wednesdays) – there are even live concerts and readings on occasion. The crowds here tend be youthful, hip and knowing, and the parties are often wild and memorable. The Karrera Klub nights are especially popular.
