Rumi
Rumi is said to be the most mystical poet in the history of Islam, and every 17 December for the last seven centuries he is remembered by his ancestors and poets. Rumi is also remembered every Wednesday, Friday and Saturday night, by Argentine goddesses – the same crowd as Asia de Cuba – and their pursuers.
True to the restaurant/bar full-on-nightclub culture of BA, dinner is served first before the tables are plucked off the dance-floor and the electronic party is let loose. The drinking, the dancing and the feeling you have arrived in heaven, which should remind you why you came to Buenos Aires, make up for an underwhelming culinary experience.
Along with Asia de Cuba, Rumi attracts a more arrogant, trend-setting crowd – so get your game face on and remember that deep down, behind the ‘how-dare-you-look-at-me’ glares, fashionable Argentines are kind people that just happen to take pleasure in intimidating foreigners. Thursday night is mature couples’ date night.
