Running in Paris
The embankments of the Seine and the perimeters of the Champ-de-Mars are popular places for running in Paris, as are the Jardin du Luxembourg, the Jardin des Plantes and the Tuileries. Running in Paris up the Canal St Martin to the Parc de la Villette is great if you’re based around there. A little further afield, the Bois de Boulogne and the Bois de Vincennes are excellent for longer, scenic runs. The Hash House Harriers, a group who describe themselves as a drinking club with a running problem, organise weekly runs (www.parishhh.free.fr). The Paris Marathon takes place every April (www.parismarathon.com), and the half-marathon in March.
