Hg2 : The Hedonist

Saint Patrick’s Cathedral

This marvelous, intricate church – perhaps the most famous in the country – is the largest Gothic-style Catholic cathedral in the US. Built in 1858 to replace the original St. Patrick’s – downtown in what is now Nolita – this grand house of worship can fit up to 2,200 people and reaches 405 feet above the street. It is said that over 3 million people enter through its doors each year (so come prepared to face a crowd) either to gawp, pray or attend one of their fine concerts.
