This area is home to some of the rather benign intermediate runs in Verbier and is still accessed by a slow and old cabin that quite frankly should be in a museum. However if you ignore the area you do so at your loss as it has some superb skiing. It has a distinctly different feel to the main slopes of Verbier and is often less crowded. It is certainly the place to be when the weather closes in as there is plenty of tree skiing though there are some steep cliffs above Tzoumaz so be careful. The pistes are mostly red but there are some great pockets of off piste skiing and the section just underneath the top of the gondola up from Tzoumaz is a great place to start a love affair with freeriding. On a powder day the front face back to Verbier is awesome.
