Sazerac Bar
Huey P. Long, Louisiana’s infamous governor, often leaned against the Sazerac’s curving bar made of African walnut and sipped a Ramos gin fizz. Today, the Art Deco space inside the Roosevelt is more likely to be occupied by well-dressed young professionals and older men with impeccable manners. Following the hotel’s $145 million renovation, its main bar looks as good as it did when it opened in 1938. Go ahead and order a classic cocktail, such as the namesake Sazerac. The dapper barkeeps will know how to make it with both style and a smile.
