Hg2 : The Hedonist

Sheraton Lisboa

Lisbon’s Sheraton hotel is the defining point of the undulating skyline, this gleaming multi-storey is the tallest high-rise in the city. Owned by the Starwood group (also responsible for the W chain of US design hotels), the Sheraton smacks overwhelmingly of international travel. Wealthy businessmen and conference attendees flit constantly about the beige marble lobby. Rooms are pleasantly decorated, but are impressively functional rather than comfortably relaxing. At times the suit-to-trainer ratio is over 4:1 and the building starts to resemble an office block in both appearance and pace. Reception staff have a tendency to look down their noses at guests who don’t dress the part. A top-floor restaurant offers a panoramic view, but is not recommended to those who suffer from vertigo or a fear of lifts. The hotel can be found in the Saldanha business district. Reliable quality.
