Hg2 : The Hedonist

A cheeky little dinner date special in Recoleta, where the all-female management make San Francisco restaurateurs look bone idle. Passionate about their lamb, their wine and their intimate, candlelit atmosphere, the Sirop crowd are protective of their culture, so toss out that short-sleeved shirt that should never have come with you in the first place and dress elegantly.
rnSirop’s creator and Chef Liliana Numer – who was taught to make puddings at Le Nôtre cooking school in Paris – produces some of the fanciest, albeit richest dishes in Recoleta. The puddings, as you would expect, will have your teeth rotting by coffee time, and the wine list matches the menu’s bold flavours, such as Liliana’s duck à la cassis special.
rnIn fact, intentionally or not, most of the food here is particularly rich and sweet. The not-so-sweet Nectarine (not listed), which serves French cuisine next door, is also popular with locals. Do not confuse Sirop with Sirop Folie across the alleyway.
