Hg2 : The Hedonist

Sistina

For over 20 years, this spiffy Upper East Side trattoria has been charming locals, celebs (Tom Wolfe is a known fan, for all you Electric Kool-Aid Acid fans out there), and Wall Street tycoons alike with northern Italian fare in the oak-paneled dining room all aglow with Fortuna teardrop wall sconces, flickering candles, and neat, white table cloths. But the thing that never fails to attract fans here are the tens of thousands of bottles of Italian wine that owner Gerardo Bruno has accumulated and that chef Daniel Boulud says is one of the best lists in the city. “Sistina, for the best Italian wine list in NYC, and incredible Barolos. Let the owner Gerardo choose for you.” Tip: head here in the late fall when truffle season rolls around to take full advantage of all those wonderful Tuscan vinos just waiting to be uncorked for the perfect pairing.
